Getting Around in the San Francisco Area on Public Transportation

If you plan to stay at one of the hotels near our campus during the time you visit SFBI, most offer direct shuttle service to and from our campus. If you would like to explore the Bay Area after class, this section contains some helpful links about transportation in the Bay Area.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)

This is the Bay Area’s underground rail system. The South San Francisco station is approximately 3.5 miles from the SFBI campus. Boarding at South San Francisco, passengers will arrive in downtown San Francisco in 25 minutes.

Caltrain

This above ground commuter rail system is the fastest way to get to downtown San Francisco from our campus on public transportation. The South San Francisco CalTrain stop is approximately 1.5 miles from the SFBI campus. The trip from the South San Francisco station to downtown San Francisco takes approximately 15 minutes.
